It is Children's Mental Health Awareness Week next week. The theme is:
"Know Yourself, Grow Yourself" - the more we can understand about ourselves, the more prepared we are to express our emotions and take on life's ups and downs". This theme sits well with our zones of regulation resources, being able to identify and label our emotions and know what we can do to help ourselves when we are in the blue, yellow or red zones.
Next week, class teachers will be talking with the children about mental health and completing some activities related to the theme. Naomi, our Mental Health Practitioner, will also be planning some playground activities for children to get involved in.

Residential Camp at Mill on the Brue, Somerset:
The children had a fabulous time away on their Year 6 Residential Camp at Mill On the Brue 25th-29th November. There were many activities on offer which they took part in, which included; walk the plank, leap of faith, assault course and the gladiator wall.
For their survival challenge, the children had to trade objects to make sure they had their survival items! To ensure they had water for their hot chocolate, they needed to visit the beautiful and majestic water fairy!
They enjoyed a Disco on their final evening before returning to school on the Friday.
The St Martin's Fundraising Team have organised 'STORY TIME WITH FATHER CHRISTMAS' to take place during the school day on Friday 29th November 2024. This year to celebrate this, please can children come into school in non-school uniform, wearing something red (if they have it). This could be clothing or an accessory for example; socks, a hairband or a t-shirt.
Please can we ask children bring in a donation of up to £1 for Comic Relief.
All the children will take part in a red-nose based drawing competition during school time.
St Martin's will be celebrating World Book day on Friday 8th March. On this day, we encourage your children to come to school dressed up as their favourite book characters, sparking creativity and enthusiasm for literature (this can be anything book related, we are not asking parents to buy costumes for this occasion).
Additionally, this year we are going for the theme, 'Reading for Pleasure'. We invite pupils to bring in their favourite books (with their names labelled inside). This will not only allow them to share their love for reading but also contribute to a day filled with the joy of reading.
We look forward to celebrating the magic of books and fostering a love for reading with your children on Friday, 8th March. Thank you for continued support.
