St Martin's School has Pastoral Support Workers who help children overcome behavioural, social and emotional problems that are affecting their learning.

Mrs Chaplin - Learning Mentor

Mr Brown - Wellbeing and Behaviour Mentor

Our Learning Mentors help children overcome behavioural, social or emotional problems that are affecting their learning.

A Learning Mentor can: 

• Listen to children
• Provide nurture
• Provide emotional support in times of crisis
• Support children's social and emotional learning
• Improve playground behaviour and help friendships be positive
• Work with the Welfare and Attendance Officer

Provision includes:

• Working 1:1 or in small groups 
• Helping children prepare for learning
• Tree Top Nurture
• Lunch Time Club
• Thrive programme
• Emotional literacy
• Helping maintain positive friendships and behaviour
