  • World Book Day at St Martin’s

    Thu 04 Mar 2021

St Martin's will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 4th March and will be linking our activities with our School's ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ ethos - as Reading Books offer so many opportunities to be Active, Keep Learning, Give, Take Notice and Connect.

In School and via our Home Learning we will be offering activities to explore these values through specially chosen Stories and Books suitable for each year group. We will encourage everyone to get involved whether in school or at home.

There are 2 ways to do this:

    1) by dressing up as a favourite character from a book and

    2) by sharing a story together as a family, with a pet, with toys or virtually with a family member over zoom etc.

You can do either or both and we would love you to take photos and send them to us on World Book Day so we can share them via our social media pages and display boards in school. All photos received will be entered into a draw.

CLOSING DATE END OF MONDAY 8TH MARCH.

A Bookish Prize will go to 1 lucky entry per year group - winners will be picked the following week.

Please send your photos by email directly to: sharephoto@stmartinsschool.org.uk (please include Year Group, child's initials in your email).

Please Note: that by parents/carers forwarding your child's World Book Day photos to sharephoto@stmartinsschool.org.uk you are giving your consent for photos to be shared on our official St Martin's School Facebook/Twitter pages/school website.

  • SchoolPing Update: Summary Report and Telephone Consultations

    Mon 22 Jun 2020

A message was sent home today to all Parents/Carers: 22nd June 2020

This year, we will not be able to send our usual end of year report because the children have not attended school formally for such a large amount of time.

We have therefore changed our reporting system for this year to take account of the lockdown. We will send a report summary - this will add some further detail to the written summaries sent in April. (Some aspects may be the same as teachers may not have enough evidence to add further detail).

In addition to this, we will offer each family a 10 minute telephone discussion with their class teacher to discuss the child/ren. Some teachers have already sent out their Booking Information via SchoolPing, others will follow shortly. Please sign up for a 10 minute slot and please provide the telephone number you would like us to use - this can be added in the comments area when you book your time slot.

These meetings will be staggered over the rest of term and the written Report Summary will be sent to you during the final week of Term 6.

    Regards,

    Simon Marriott
