Welcome to St Martin’s Church of England School Website.

St Martin’s is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School. Our school has historically been a Junior School which has taught children in Years 4 to 6.

In September 2011, we were delighted to welcome two Reception Classes to our school community. They have moved into a spectacular new indoor and outdoor area, which has been specifically design to meet their needs. A proposal for our school to become a full Primary School in September 2012 is currently underway. You can view the consultation document and offer you views by clicking the following link.

St. Martin's School, named after the Parish Church of the same name, is situated in the older part of Worle, which in turn is now a suburb of Weston-super-Mare. Children attend our school from all areas of Weston-super-Mare.

Though the School's history goes back over one hundred years, it has been situated in its present buildings, which were originally the village's Secondary School, since 1971. It benefits enormously from facilities such as a gymnasium, an assembly hall with formal stage, a separate dining hall, a Learning Resource Centre, a specialist music room and two large playgrounds at front and rear of the school.

The attractive School grounds provide a pleasant safe environment in which education can take place.
As a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School, St. Martin's has four of its Governors nominated by the Diocese of Bath and Wells, which takes an interest in the activities of the School. Close links are enjoyed with the Parish Church of the same name and staff of both institutions work closely together.

Assemblies are held daily but if parents wish their child to be withdrawn, formal contact with the School is needed please. Parents are always welcome to attend the services led by children throughout most of the year.
