ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS 2026/27

We look forward to welcoming your child to St Martin’s C of E Primary School in September as they embark on their education journey.
Please find below all the information and documents you need prior to your child starting school. We ask you to take some time to read through the information and complete the admission form as soon as possible. The school office can be contacted during normal school opening hours to offer support and guidance as needed.

Online Admission Form

If you have applied for a place in Reception 2026, and accepted your child's place via North Somerset School Admissions, please can we ask parents to complete an online admission form via this link >> https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/zV0h6XmEcW

(It is not possible to save the form during completion so please allow time to complete it in one go. Responses should be submitted as soon as possible and no later than 1st July).

Starting Arrangements

At St Martin’s C of E Primary School we aim to ensure our new arrivals settle happily and quickly into school life. At first your child will attend on a part-time basis. We appreciate this may initially be awkward for you to organise but we strongly believe that this gives all children the best way of gradually adapting to this new setting and its new routines and has proven very successful at ensuring a smooth transition into school.

Please see the timetable below for all children:

* Full-time attendance is dependent on both the Head of School and class teacher’s assessment of a child’s
happy and successful settling into school and their ability to cope with full-time education.

Uniform

All children are expected to come to school in school uniform. This should include white polo/shirt, school badged claret cardigan or jumper, grey/black skirt, shorts, trousers, dark red gingham summer dress, black sturdy school shoes. A school badged book bag will be provided by the school for new Reception starters.

For PE lessons children should wear a plain white t-shirt, plain black shorts/ leggings/joggers. Trainers (not daps as they do not provide suitable support).

Badged school uniform should be purchased from NK Uniform using the link below or by visiting their shop on Worle High Street.
Please click here >>  https://www.nkgroupuk.com/collections/st-martins-church-of-england-primary-school

In addition, we have lots of pre-loved second-hand uniform available from our online Uniformd shop - items should be ordered and paid for, then collected from the school office no later than 15th July.

School Meals

Free School Meals
There are two free school meal options:

Universal Infant Free School Meals – this is for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, you do not need to apply for this.

Free School Meals – is an additional entitlement for those on qualifying benefits such as income support and universal credit. Parents/carers will need to use their North Somerset Council Citizen’s Portal to make an application using this link:
https://n-somerset.gov.uk/my-services/schools-learning/local-schools/free-school-meals

Please do not make an application before the summer holidays as your application will be cancelled by North Somerset.

Aspens
School meals are provided by our catering company Aspens and we use the SwiftKitchen online ordering system to place school meals. Parents/carers are responsible for ordering their child’s school meals. Children are encouraged to have a school meal using their Universal Free School Meal (UIFSM) or Free School Meal (FSM) entitlements but can also have a packed lunch from home if preferred. The ordering system allows parents/carers to see the menu and order each day according to the menu or instead send their child with a packed lunch.

Login details will be provided once your child starts school. We encourage parents to pre-book meals a week in advance  – the cut off time is 9am on the day.

Communication
We use a number of platforms to communicate with parents/carers in the fastest and most efficient way, on top of other daily forms of communication.

This is an online platform, with a dedicated app, which we use to send messages, letters and forms and for the booking of parents evenings. The best way to use SchoolPing is to download the app. Login details will be provided once your child starts school.
