Build ! Create ! Explore ! Play !
St Martin's Primary School is participating in the Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) Primary Programme to improve outdoor play at our school. This program encourages students to direct their own creative play with recycled and upcycled scrap materials that encourage children to be inventive and imaginative!
The OPAL play programme aims to improve opportunities for physical activity, socialisation, cooperation, coordination, resilience, creativity and enjoyment through improved play.

Since September 2024, the OPAL Play Team at St Martin's have been working extremely hard creating new playground projects. The children were very excited about the new sandpits installed on our play areas which were fully funded by our St Martin's Fundraising Team. The OPAL team are busy with new playground activities and play zones for the children's lunchtime play... watch this space!!
A reminder that, regardless of the weather, our children will be spending their playtimes and lunchtimes outside so they will need a waterproof coat and trousers (if they have any) in school.
On 10th October, we had a fantastic OPAL play afternoon with our parents and carers.
We invited all our parents to enjoy a Stay and Play session with the children. It was a great opportunity for everyone to see and experience the lunch time provision that we have for the children.
